For Government
If the world needs saving, stay calm
Governments need to get the best deals, just like business organisations. And they can suffer from the same problems around the negotiating table:
- People are too close to the subject and become emotional
- They have too much riding on the outcome, and no not remain calm and objective
- They lack experience at dealing with extremely important negotiations.
Contracts and negotiations are a vital part of political life. I am not a political animal and have no particular allegiances. But my experience at negotiating business deals with political organisations and people has given me some experience and insight, which can be put at your disposal.
Do you think politicians and diplomats do not need such expert assistance? Remember, for a moment, the famous example of the US negotiator at the 2007 Bali climate change conference who broke down in tears when an agreement was finally reached.
That was either a mistake, because he was too emotional. Or it was a positioning ploy, for use in the future.
You need someone who remains calm, and gets you the right deal, not just any deal. And that's where I come in… with the expertise you need in high-level negotiations.
