13 – Harnessing Tech, Elevating Leadership. (Are we leading technology—or is it leading us?)

On 8th November 2024, I took the (virtual) stage at the Digital Security Festival, an event known for exploring the boldest questions about technology, innovation, and the future of business. This year’s focus was on the transformative impact of cyber-presence in business, and I couldn’t resist tackling a powerful reality: the shift from information-driven to data-centric societies—and what that means for businesses, leadership, and even our sense of self. In my keynote, I explored how companies like Amazon, Apple, and Spotify have thrived by leveraging data-driven models, automating decisions, and shaping entire industries. But success powered by data isn’t without its challenges—especially for leaders, decision-makers, and even individual identity. The very tools that offer efficiency can also create dependency, burnout, and even identity crises, leaving us wondering: “When the sky has no limit, how far should we go?”
12 – Why Being Serious Is Seriously Overrated

In a world where seriousness seems to be a badge of honour—whether at school, work, or in our daily lives—we are constantly told to be serious to achieve success, avoid failure, and maintain a sense of responsibility. But where does this deep-rooted belief in the need for seriousness come from? And is it really helping us achieve better outcomes, or is it just an unnecessary burden? Let’s face it, life has turned into one giant “serious” memo. We often treat seriousness as the default mode, but does this mindset lead to happier, more fulfilling lives? What if all this seriousness is, well, seriously overrated? Through thoughtful analysis, the author challenges this notion, questioning whether being “serious” is just a convenient yet outdated social expectation.
11 – The Clear Cut: Cutting Through the Clutter to Clear Your Mind

I set out with a simple goal: clear up my desk. Little did I know that a mundane task would turn into a journey of self-discovery. From old papers and forgotten notes to relics of past projects, the act of shredding and reorganizing sparked a surprising sense of liberation. I found myself shredding not just physical clutter but mental clutter too. Along the way, I even ditched two extra computer screens, realizing that perhaps my multitasking setup didn’t need to resemble a NASA control room after all. The result? A profound sense of freedom, focus, and, yes, a better-organized desk.
Podcast 10 – It’s Your Glass: Fill It Your Way

In today’s high-octane modern societies, our lives are trapped in a relentless cycle: wake up early, work hard, return home, spend time with loved ones, and repeat. We glorify dedicating endless hours to work, convinced that more effort leads to greater rewards. Constant connectivity through smartphones and endless streams of information keep us perpetually busy, while marketers exploit our stress with promises of quick fixes and modern-day magic pills. Yet, despite all this hustle, we’re left wondering: Time to do what? Our glass is more often half empty than half full, revealing a troubling obsession with productivity that overlooks the true essence of our lives.
One of the real problem lies in our fixation on shortcuts that offer temporary relief but fail to address deeper issues. As a Contemplationist, it is crucial to shift our focus inward, cultivating a clear and robust “glass” by understanding and mastering our actions with a purpose-driven vision. Without this foundational clarity, our efforts are futile, like pouring liquid into a vessel with a hole in the bottom. By owning our glass, taking responsibility for our actions, and preparing for the unexpected, we can break free from the superficial hustle and achieve true, balanced fulfilment. Embracing this deep, intentional approach transforms our lives from mere busyness to meaningful and enduring legacy.
